Toys“R”Us opened its first stores in the U.K. in 1985 with locations in Cardiff, Bristol, Woking and Basildon. The company currently operates more than 70 Toys“R”Us stores in the U.K., as well as five Side-by-Side locations that combine Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us under one roof.

Shoppers visiting Toys“R”Us stores in the U.K. will discover toys and baby products from companies native to the country, like Hornby, which produces train and road race sets, as well as global toy manufacturers like LEGO, Mattel and Hasbro. The U.K. stores have also been a launch pad for brands that have become well-known globally, notably Teletubbies and Bob the Builder, and more recently, Fireman Sam and Peppa Pig.

Toys“R”Us, U.K. established e-commerce operations in 1996 and currently operates websites for Toys“R”Us (Toysrus.co.uk) and Babies“R”Us (Babiesrus.co.uk). It continues to expand its online product and service offerings, including adding a “Click and Collect” service in 2010, which allows customers to order an item online and pick it up in a local store just hours later. In 2012, Toys“R”Us, U.K. launched its first mobile-optimized e-commerce site, making it even easier for customers to shop on-the-go, and in 2014, launched its “Ship from Store” service, enabling a more efficient distribution facility by leveraging inventory from stores to complete online purchases.
