Toys“R”Us, Inc. opened its first international stores in 1984, including a licensed location in Singapore. Since then, the company has continued to expand aggressively in China and Southeast Asia, opening more store locations with respected business partners through licensing agreements. In 2011, Toys“R”Us, Inc. formed a joint venture with Li and Fung Retailing for its businesses in China and Southeast Asia, and at that time, stores in Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand became wholly owned operations of Toys“R”Us, Inc. 

Shoppers visiting Toys“R”Us stores in China and Southeast Asia will discover toys and baby products from well-known local brands, such as Auldey in China and Swaveboard in Singapore, as well as global toy manufacturers like Mattel and Hasbro for items like Macau-themed Monopoly. In these markets, Toys“R”Us is also a leader in offering a broad assortment of learning toys. Toys“R”Us stores in celebrate a variety of holidays by country, including “Children’s Day,” Chinese New Year, Christmas and others.
