Toys“R”Us opened its first stores in Canada in September 1984 with locations in Brampton and Hamilton, Ontario, followed by an additional store opening in Thornhill, Ontario in November of that year. Canada was the first country to debut the integrated Side-by-Side concept, which features the Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us brands under one roof, a model that was later adopted in the U.S. and in many of the company’s other locations around the world. Toys“R”Us, Canada continues to introduce new store formats, including seasonal Toys“R”Us Express locations.

Shoppers visiting Toys“R”Us stores in Canada will discover toys and baby products from well-known Canadian companies, such as Spin Master, Wooky, Orb Factory, Heys and Calego, as well as global toy manufacturers like Mattel, Hasbro and LEGO. Toys“R”Us stores in Canada often host experiential events or play days, during which kids and parents can create or build a toy to take home.
