Toys“R”Us embarked on a new adventure “down under” in September 1993 when it opened its first stores in Australia in Melbourne, Highpoint and Knox City, with four more locations opening by the end of that year. The company currently operates approximately 20 Toys“R”Us stores in Australia, including its flagship location in Sydney. It also operates 15 Side-by-Side store locations, combining the Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us brands under one roof.

Shoppers visiting Toys“R”Us stores in Australia will discover toys and baby products from more than 100 Australian toy companies like Moose Toys, as well as global manufacturers like Mattel and Hasbro. Toys“R”Us stores in Australia host a number of in-store events throughout the year with fun activities for kids to celebrate holidays, introduce new products and provide a welcoming atmosphere for families.

In 2011, Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us stores in Australia re-introduced Layby, allowing customers to set up payment plans for everything from small toys to large trampolines.
